Arne Slot predicts what Erik ten Hag will do after departure from Manchester United
Liverpool boss Arne Slot passed on condolences to Erik ten Hag after his Manchester United sacking and predicted he would manage a 'big club' again in the near future.
Ten Hag oversaw United's worst start to a Premier League campaign this term and was sacked following Sunday's defeat to West Ham, which left the club 14th in the table.
After joining United from Ajax in 2022, Ten Hag enjoyed an excellent first season in charge, but the wheels fell off in his second year. United finished eighth in the Premier League, recording a minus goal difference, but Ten Hag still managed to win the FA Cup.
Although Ten Hag was backed in the summer, bad results extended into the new campaign and he finally bit the bullet on Monday with Ineos deciding they had seen enough.

Ten Hag's departure has made national headlines and Premier League managers have been asked about his exit at press conferences ahead of this week's Carabao Cup fixtures.
Liverpool appointed Slot as Jurgen Klopp's replacement in the summer and his side hammered United 3-0 at the beginning of September. Slot came up against Ten Hag during his time managing in the Eredivisie and sent his condolences to his fellow Dutchman on Tuesday.
"He's a Dutch manager, so it makes it even harder for me, as a Dutch person. Always your first thoughts are with the person, we are all in this job, so we know this can happen," said Slot.
"But if it happens, especially because I know him a little bit and know how much work he puts into it, then to get this news for him is of course a pity.
