Arne Slot already replied to Pep Guardiola's Man City title admission with 'boring' claim

Liverpool's "boring" approach may be the secret ingredient to snatching the Premier League title from Manchester City this season.

Arne Slot remains single-mindedly focused on the next game despite City's recent spate of shaky displays. City boss Pep Guardiola has conceded the title race might be decided at Anfield next Sunday, especially if Liverpool beat Southampton this weekend to move eight points clear at the table summit.

City lost a fifth game in a row on Saturday after falling 4-0 at home to Tottenham. This prompted Guardiola - fresh after signing new contract during the international break - to acknowledge the severity of their situation in keeping hold of the title.

"Yes. In terms of Liverpool winning, winning, winning, it's true," replied the Catalan when quizzed about the prospect of City's title defence being ended in December. "I don't know what is going to happen, but the reality is here and we have to win games.

"People are saying it can't get worse - but it can get worse. The exceptional things we have done over the last eight years are not eternal. I said how difficult it was to do the things we have done - and now people might believe me."

Guardiola also admitted his team are "a bit fragile" at present and acknowledged there are "many details [City] have to fix." However, Slot did not share the same level of criticism for Liverpool's chief title contenders and City's current plight ahead of this weekend.
