'Arms spread in disbelief' - Journalist reveals Tottenham ace left Conte furious

Antonio Conte was left in disbelief on Wednesday night with Sergio Reguilon’s miss in the latter stages of the game on the south coast, according to Dan Kilpatrick.

Tottenham Hotspur were able to seal three big points on the night as they were able to keep a much-needed clean sheet after a poor defensive showing on the weekend.

Spurs went into the game after their defeat on the weekend against Manchester United saw their hopes of a top-four finish take another blow.

However, they were able to take the lead into half-time and added to it after the break with a goal from Harry Kane, however, there was a moment which left Conte furious on the sideline.

And it was his left wing-back who angered the manager with a glaring miss after Harry Kane had played the Spaniard through one-on-one with Robert Sanchez.

“Conte turns to his bench with his arms spread in disbelief as Reguilon squanders a great chance to kill the game, shooting at Sanchez 1v1 after Kane’s sublime pass,” Kilpatrick tweeted.

TIF Thoughts on Kilpatrick’s tweet…

We are not surprised the 52-year-old was left frustrated with Reguilon as the chance would’ve sent Spurs into a 3-0 lead with around 20 minutes remaining.

Conte has used a wing-back system since arriving in north London and it is apparent he is still trying to extract the best but has seen some recent positive signs.

Reguilon scored last week in the win against Everton, however, with just three assists this season in the league, it is apparent there is a lot of room for improvement.

And it was not the best night defensively for the 25-year-old who was unable to record a single tackle, nor complete a successful cross (via SofaScore).
