Argos recalls popular kids' game amid 'contamination' concerns
Argos has issued a recall for a popular Christmas present amidst concerns it could be contaminated with mildew. Parents are being encouraged to return the £10 Orchard Toys Fun Food Bingo game, which was available for purchase between September 1 and December 23.
Since then, the product has been removed from all stores and purchasers can return it for a full refund. Argos' warning reads: "Orchard Toys is recalling the above Fun Food Bingo; the product may present a risk of microbial contamination. It has been identified that there may be small amounts of mildew on the cotton bag included in the game.
"Mildew may pose a risk to health in individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mildew."
The box is also blue but covered in various different smiling food item characters. There is a big yellow label on the box reading 'Fun Food Bingo' too.
According to the Mirror, another notice on the Argos site reads: "Please stop using the toy immediately, check if you have an affected batch and if so, return it to your local Argos store for a full refund or contact Argos direct on 0800 011 3462 Monday to Sunday 08:00 – 20:00.
"We take the quality and safety of our products extremely seriously and would like to apologise to customers affected for any inconvenience this may cause. No other Orchard Toys products are affected by this recall."
For further product recall information, you can visit the Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards websites. Recall notices should also be visible in stores if a product has been removed from shelves.
