Apple TV viewers make complaint over series with perfect Rotten Tomatoes score

Fans have slammed the second season of an Apple TV series as too 'confusing' - despite its perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Foundation season two launched on the streaming service earlier this month, with episodes airing weekly until September 15. The show, from executive producer David S Goyer, is based on Isaac Asimov's science fiction novel of the same name.

It stars Jared Harris as mathematician and psychohistorian Hari Seldon, alongside Lee Pace, Terrence Mann and Cassian Bilton. It follows a group of exiles attempting to save humanity from the fall of the Galactic Empire.

The show's official synopsis reads: "The monumental adaptation of Foundation chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity."

The second season has already had rave reviews from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, earning the coveted 100 percent score. One critic hailed it as 'an epic saga that continuously captivates' while another reckoned: "Season Two keeps the same epic scale of season one, but infuses the story with more warmth, humanity, and humour."

But not everybody agrees, with many fans complaining that not only is the second season hard to keep up with, but it deviates from the source material. @scott_thewspot admitted: "I'm halfway through the last book in the Foundation series and I'm *really* struggling trying to understand or even follow what's going on in Season 2 of the TV series".
