Apple confirms iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro prices from £800 and pre order date and time
Apple has confirmed prices for the new iPhone will be £800 in the UK for the base model.
The range will also include a new iPhone 15 Plus and two phones in the Pro range - the Pro and Pro Max.
The devices will be available to pre order from Friday 15 September and will be arriving in stores next week, Apple has confirmed.
Pre orders will open at Sky Mobile here or on O2 here..
The devices were revealed in a live stream tonight and will now be available to order this week in the UK.
The biggest change to the new iPhone is the removal of the Apple Lightning connector – present on every iPhone since its introduction in 2007 – to be replaced by the USB-C port, which EU regulations have made the mandatory connection on all small electronics. It means iPhones can be charged using the same chargers as Android phones and Nintendo Switch devices.
USB-C is already widely used by most other smartphone and electronics manufacturers, and Apple uses it for its laptops and its more recent iPad models. The move to make the connection the universal choice on small electronics is part of European Union regulatory efforts to cut e-waste and by reducing the number of different cables consumers need for different devices.
