AO Arena responds after fears Take That fans seated 'behind the stage'

The AO Arena has dismissed claims Take That fans have been seated 'behind the stage' at one of the band's Manchester gigs. Furious fans have complained about being given 'far worse' seats at the venue which is hosting the pop group for five nights next week.

It comes after the new Co-op Live arena cancelled several concerts due to a 'technical issue'. Thousands of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie fans were set to attend the opening night on Wednesday (May 1) after postponing Peter Kay's performances the previous week.

But with queues forming outside, the venue announced at 6.40pm that the gig was cancelled and later revealed that this was because of a piece of an air conditioning unit falling from the ceiling. Soon after, all five nights of Take That were relocated to the AO Arena.

The Manchester pop group will be performing in their hometown on May 7, 9, 10, 11 and 12. But some fans who forked out hundreds of pounds for prime tickets to see the performances at Co-op Live claim they have been given 'far worse' seats at the city's other arena.

Beverley Davies from near Warrington bought tickets with her sister and niece for the first night. She told the Manchester Evening News that their tickets at Co-op Live for upper tier seats towards the back were 'not the dearest', but had a good view of the stage.

But their new seats at the AO Arena are in Block 216 which does not appear on the seating plan on Ticketmaster's website. However, according to seating plans for other gigs at the venue, this block appears to be to located next to Block 215, just behind the stage.
