Anyone turning 40 in Manchester can get free cake this week

Anyone who turns 40 in Greater Manchester this week can make their birthday celebrations even sweeter by claiming a free slice of cake.

The Big Cake Co. is offering a free slice of its signature cake The Martian to any Brits who turn 40 between Monday July 31 and Sunday August 6. The triple-layer treat consists of chocolate cake sandwiched between toffee fudge ice cream and Marz frosting.

In order to claim the free cake, all you have to do is follow the brand’s Instagram page, direct message your address details and proof of your date of birth. Entries can be submitted up until Sunday August 13. Read the terms and conditions in full here.

A Big Cake Co. spokesperson said: “Our cakes are so big, they’re perfect for all occasions – they make the perfect sharer and our Martian cake is as rich and indulgent as they come. It doesn’t matter if you’re celebrating with a camp birthday extravaganza, or just having a quiet party with your friends and family.

"Drop us a message if you’re turning 40 this week, just remember to give us some free exposure on socials as payment.”

The Big Cake Co. has stores based across Greater Manchester, including Urmston, Ashton-under-Lyne, Bury, Worsley, Wigan, Altrincham and Bolton. It has further locations across the UK and customers can place orders via JustEat or Deliveroo.

The offer comes as a bakery in Yorkshire made headlines this week amid claims a PR company asked for free cake for soap actress Catherine Tyldesley's 40th birthday celebrations - in return for publicity on social media.
