Antony reacts to 'making history' with Manchester United record vs Everton

Antony has reacted jubilantly after becoming the first Manchester United player to score in all three of his opening Premier League matches for the club.

The historic moment for the Brazilian came after a quarter of an hour at Goodison Park when he calmly placed the ball beyond the onrushing Jordan Pickford to bring United level on Sunday night. Antony's crowning accomplishment may have been slightly overshadowed at full time though, as Cristiano Ronaldo's winning strike just before the break moved the legendary forward to 700 club goals.

However, Antony did not forget about his own achievement and he reacted to it on Twitter post-match. "Amazing," he said. "Already making history and living the dream here.

"Thanks, team, for allowing and supporting me to achieve that. I can promise you that we are just beginning. Let’s go for more."

United had fallen behind early doors at Everton when Casemiro was dispossessed in the middle of the park, allowing the ball to find its way to Alex Iwobi who fired a brilliant strike beyond David de Gea. But Antony and Ronaldo's responses moved United up to fifth in the Premier League table — just one point behind Chelsea who occupy the last Champions League spot.

Erik ten Hag's men are next in action in the Europa League on Thursday night when they welcome Omonia Nicosia to Old Trafford. United's next Premier League fixture comes on Sunday when Newcastle are the visitors to the Theatre of Dreams.
