Antony has already given his backing to Erik ten Hag amid Manchester United transfer interest

Ajax winger Antony has already vowed to support Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag whenever he might need him amid the club's ongoing interest in his signature.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News , United are interested in the 22-year-old and see him as an ideal option to bolster their attacking options this summer. They want to strengthen their right-wing options and Antony has been identified as a top target.

The Brazilian, who is blessed with pace and trickery, made a real name for himself for Ajax last season, scoring 12 goals and grabbing ten assists in all competitions. He developed at a rapid rate of knots under Ten Hag last term and the latter is keen to be reunited with him at Old Trafford.

Antony joined Ajax from Sao Paulo in February 2020 and has gone up through the gears at a rapid rate of knots ever since, producing a plethora of eye-catching displays, both domestically and in Europe. He benefitted enormously from Ten Hag's approach to young talent and made it crystal clear just how much appreciated the Dutchman's time and effort in helping him after the 52-year-old's move to United was confirmed in April.

"I want to wish you all the best at your new club," said Antony, issuing a farewell message to his former manager. "I also want to thank you for everything you taught me.

"I am thankful [for] all the opportunities and learning every day. Know that I will always stand with you if you need me."
