Antony: Footage shows how Man Utd star annoyed Arsenal's Xhaka after debut goal

Whisper it very, very quietly, but Manchester United might be back.

After a horrendous start to the 2022/23 season which saw them lose back-to-back Premier League games, including a 4-0 thrashing at Brentford, the Red Devils have won four on the bounce.

The latest of their victories saw United beat their old foe Arsenal 3-1 at Old Trafford on Super Sunday.

A brace from Marcus Rashford and a debut goal from £85 million man Antony secured three more priceless points for Erik ten Hag.

In truth, United rode their luck at times, with Arsenal the dominant force for much of the game.

But the hosts ruthlessly took their chances and Antony’s goal in the first half really was a thing of beauty.

The build-up play from United was as slick as it comes, while the finish from the former Ajax man with his left peg was emphatic.

Unsurprisingly, the roof came off Old Trafford when Antony rippled the back of Aaron Ramsdale’s net and the Brazil international also celebrated wildly – as he was entitled to do.

But Antony’s actions didn’t go down well with Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka at all, with the Sky Sports cameras showing the two having a rather heated conversation in the aftermath of the goal.

So why was Xhaka so fuming? Was it because the United man over celebrated? Well, we now know the answer to the question.

Footage captured by a fan inside Old Trafford on the day shows Antony punching the ball off the pitch when Xhaka came over to collect it from him in order to restart the game.

It was some elite-level petiness from United’s new starboy…

He’s too funny man
