Antonio Conte's own Gareth Bale must follow Mauricio Pochettino's advice for Tottenham chance

Ryan Sessegnon hasn't had the easiest starts to his football career, as it has been riddled with inujuries and lack of game time.

With still a few months of the season to go, it has already been a rollercoaster of a campaign for the 21-year-old, who didn't get his first minutes in the Premier League until the Leeds tie in November.

Since then, Sessegnon has found himself on and off the bench and still battling to keep fit.

The youngster made just his fourth league start of the season in Tottenham's 3-2 victory over Man City at the Etihad and was one of many players who produced a solid performance.

Sessegnon had some solid spells of defending and also tried to help his side in the attacking half of the field, before being substituted in the 93rd minute.

Sessegnon made the move to Tottenham, from Fulham, in 2019 and in his final season with the Championship side he had scored 15 goals and registered six assists in 46 league appearances.

The 21-year-old explained that Mauricio Pochettino was a big part of his move and shortly after his shift to north London, the Argentine already had high hopes for the youngster.

"The good thing is that he has the capacity to play in different positions," Pochettino admitted. "That’s an interesting quality and maybe he can play in different positions for us. It will be very helpful.

"You can be a very good player, but you need a platform, team-mates and good coaching staff to help you. Then you need time and luck and training hard and hard work."

However just a few months after his Spurs career began, Pochettino was sacked and along came Jose Mourinho, which was a shock for Sessegnon who had been on international duty with the England U21s.
