Antonio Conte's explosive press conference could help Harry Kane make Manchester United transfer decision

If ever Harry Kane needed to put into words why he might want to leave Tottenham, he only needs to look as far as his manager Antonio Conte and an explosive post-match press conference on Saturday.

Kane's future at Spurs has been uncertain since his failed attempt to join Manchester City back in 2021 and looks set to lead the back pages this summer, with Manchester United earmarking him at the prime target for their summer revamp. The England star had three years left on a six-year deal during that failed move to the Etihad, and consequently held little to no bargaining power over chairman Daniel Levy.

That same deal enters its final 12 months come June and Kane is still without a major trophy at Tottenham, despite becoming the club's all-time top goalscorer in February. Major silverware has often been cited by the 29-year-old as career goal No.1 and a move away from north London might well be necessary.
