Antonio Conte may have found what Tottenham have been missing after Brighton victory

Antonio Conte made five substitutions during Tottenham's tie against Brighton and the depth of the squad helping during matches is not something that has always been a success this season.

Since the arrival of the Italian, Spurs have seen improvements both on and off the pitch, which have helped them win matches and now progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Lilywhites now have to prepare for a busy final few months of the season, with lots of fixtures to play and a busy schedule means Conte will need all of his players available for as many games as possible.

The January transfer window brought two new arrivals to Spurs, with Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur being announced on deadline day.

Kulusevski and Bentancur were both brought to N17 from the Italian side and were given their first opportunity to impress their new boss in the tie against Graham Potter's side.

It was the first chance for the duo to experience playing in front of their home fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and playing the cup tie against a fellow Premier League side would have only improved that experience.

"It was important also to breathe the atmosphere for the two new signings, for us, for Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur," Conte admitted in his post match press conference.

"It was important to come in and to understand the intensity of this league. I repeat, two good players, two young players with talent. They can help us.

"Rodrigo, despite his age, only 24-years-old, has a lot of experience because he played 120 games for Juventus. Kulusevski, the same. I think they can help us," he added.

"I’m pleased that I gave them the opportunity to come in and also breathe this fantastic atmosphere in our stadium.
