Tottenham Hotspur will look for an instant response to their 1-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend when they travel to Brentford for a London derby on Saturday evening.

Spurs had won seven out of nine Premier League games to move into the top four, but that defeat to the Seagulls allowed Manchester United to close the gap to three points on the same day, while Arsenal are now just behind Antonio Conte ’s side on goal difference after their victory in midweek.

And ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Bees, the Italian manager has issued a firm demand of his players after slipping up last time out.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Conte made it clear that his side’s defeat to Brighton last Saturday must simply be a one-off if they are to achieve a top four finish this season, with the Red Devils and the Gunners closing the gap with recent victories.

He said: “For sure our hope and our desire is in every game to play well and to score goals. You know very well that every game is not simple and every game is difficult. In every game you have to be 100 per cent. I think during a season it can happen this type of situation.
