Antonio Conte inducted into the Italian football Hall of Fame

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has been rewarded for his successful coaching career by being inducted into the Italian football Hall of Fame.

Conte has become the fifth former or present Italy manager to be inducted under the coach category, following Arrigo Sacchi, Giovanni Trapattoni, Marcello Lippi and Euro 2020 winning coach Roberto Mancini. 

The Italian Football Federation said that while they chose to reward Conte as a coach, he could have 'easily been placed in the players category' for his success on the field.

Conte told the Italian Football Federation's official website: 'I think that this award concerns my two careers, both as a player and as a coach.

'In both cases I had an important path, with the luck and skill I won everything as a footballer at club level.

'Unfortunately, I missed something with the national team, considering that I've been World Cup and Euro runner-up. I'm trying to follow the same winning path as a coach.'

As a player, Conte enjoyed much success winning six Serie A titles with Juventus as well as the Champions League in 1996.

However, for his country, he was part of the squads that finished runners-up to Brazil at the 1994 World Cup and France at Euro 2000.

He has already held the role of Italy manager, guiding them to a quarter-final finish at Euro 2016 where they were knocked out by Germany on penalties. 

Conte won the Premier League title with Chelsea in 2017 and has also won four Serie A titles as a manager - three with Juventus and one at Inter Milan.  

The 52-year-old was appointed Tottenham manager in November following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Conte doesn't have the team to compete for the title like he did at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan, but he has helped
