Antonio Conte has stated that it was "strange" for Tottenham to send out four players on loan and sell one in the January transfer window.
A key month for the club with a number of incomings and outgoings needing to take place, the Lilywhites had a new right-wing-back, central midfielder and striker on their list of priorities.
They did manage to bring in Rodrigo Bentancur to the club from Juventus to strengthen in central midfield but, in the end, went without right wing-back and striker reinforcements.
However, fellow new signing Dejan Kulusevski does give Conte options in attack as he can operate in a number of positions in the final third.
As well as the arrival of two new players to give everyone a lift ahead of a big second half to the season, Dele Alli joined Everton on a permanent basis, whereas Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil all departed on loan on deadline day.
Speaking to the media about Tottenham bringing in two new players and seeing more head out of the door, Conte delivered his verdict on their January dealings and claimed that their outgoings highlighted "mistakes" in the past.
