Anthony Martial leads Lisandro Martinez praise after dominant performance in Manchester United win

Anthony Martial and the rest of his Manchester United teammates showered Lisandro Martinez in praise after the defender's dominant display against Liverpool on Monday night.

Erik ten Hag got the perfect response from his players at Old Trafford as they put in a fine performance to beat Liverpool 2-1. The first Premier League win for the Dutchman was a special one coming against the club's bitter rivals, and you could see the motivation and the desire both on and off the pitch.

United were sharp from the outset as they suffocated Jurgen Klopp's side of any time on the ball, forcing the Liverpool side in to numerous sloppy passes and mistakes. The home crowd could sense there was an opportunity for the taking as they roared the players into life.

Goals either side of half-time from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford ensured that a late Mohamed Salah goal was only a consolation for the Liverpool team. The lack of a clean sheet was the only minuscule stain on what was a pristine performance from the Reds, encapsulated by the performance of Martinez at the back.

The Argentine defender prevented what looked to be a certain own goal from Bruno Fernandes and didn't give the Liverpool attackers a moment's rest as he left everything out on the pitch.
