Anthony Elanga: Man Utd star nearly broke world record in pre-season training

Anthony Elanga looks to be in incredible shape ahead of the 2022/2023 Premier League season.

Over the past couple of months we’ve seen various videos of the star putting in the hard graft with his fitness coach Tom Joyce and it seems he’s really beginning to reap the benefits.

The 20-year-old Swedish international is no doubt to desperate to build upon his breakout campaign at Old Trafford, and given his impressive level of physical development, we say he’s perfectly placed to do just that.

This isn’t the first time fans are hearing about the insane work ethic of Manchester United’s young prodigy.

Speaking to The Athletic back in March, United academy chief Travis Binnion told an eye-opening story about his time with the under 18’s.

“He’s a fantastic example for these players,” Binnion said in the interview.

“He’s only just gone across to be with the first team, so he’s still always around with us — and his mates. When we played at Atalanta in the Youth League, we had to meet at Carrington at 6am to be at the airport an hour later.

“Anthony got to Carrington at 4am and went in the gym and we saw him stretching and exercising. One of the coaches arrived at 4:45am and couldn’t believe his eyes.

“He did this for every round, because he felt he had to do his usual prep, regardless of what time it was. That stuck with me. He’s a really good kid who loves football.”

Are you thinking what we’re thinking? Elanga’s the new Cristiano Ronaldo…

As part of Elanga’s strength and conditioning programme, he’s been working on improving his box jump – an exercise that measures how high you can get your feet off the floor when jumping – and recently set a personal best of 63 inches (5.25 ft).

Incredible, right? But even better
