Annan Athletic boss calls on players to make it three League One wins in a row

Annan boss Peter Murphy wants his side to make it three wins in a row for the first time this term when they face champions Falkirk.

This will be the Galabankies’ final home game of the season and Murphy warned his troops that the Bairns will be tough opposition as they go all out to finish their campaign unbeaten.

He said: “It will be a really difficult game because Falkirk are trying to protect their unbeaten record.

“It creates a bit of history for them and they will want to be known as The Invincibles I would guess. For them, as a group, they have already won the league and now they won’t want to take their foot off the pedal.

“They have another target to set and that is to finish the season unbeaten. It’s a nice position for them to be in.

“And for us we want to make sure that we only have two games left in the season and avoid the play-offs.

“We got a draw with them away this season but this will be different.”

Annan have a doubt over Tommy Muir who is struggling with injury while Steven Swinglehurst is also battling to be fit with a cyst at the back of his knee and Aidan Smith has a shin knock.

Murphy added: “With it being our last home game of the season we are expecting a good crowd and a bit of an atmosphere.

“So we will see how that goes and hope for the best.”
