Angel Gomes' shocking Jose Mourinho revelation proves Manchester United made the right decision

Jose Mourinho is a fantastic manager. No one can take his incredible achievements away from him but his man-management leaves a lot to be desired.

When it works and his players are receptive to it, he's capable of creating a juggernaut of a side that will win trophies and even league titles. But a few years down the line, you can almost guarantee said juggernaut will break down and Mourinho will leave the club having fallen out with his players. This was no different when he was manager of Manchester United - aside from the winning league titles part, obviously.

The problem is while tough love works on some players, others are more responsive to a more constructive form of criticism. Mourinho, however, does not seem to tailor his approach depending on the player and tries a one-size-fits-all approach which causes conflict.

Over his time at Old Trafford, Mourinho famously fell out with Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, the former being a player who was actually bought by Mourinho during his United reign. And it seems his issues dealing with players weren't limited to the senior squad.

Former United youngster Angel Gomes was on the wrong end of one of Mourinho's infamous rants, and he has detailed this exchange in an interview with SPORTBible. The Lille midfielder said: “One time, he took me to a cup game with the first team after I'd played with the U21s. We were at the dinner table and he's come around speaking to everyone. He then looks at me and says, 'I am f**ked with you'.
