Manchester United youngster James Garner sends message to Erik ten Hag ahead of pre-season

Manchester United star James Garner has sent a clear message to Erik ten Hag with his latest Instagram post.

Garner earned plenty of plaudits last season with his performances while on loan at Nottingham Forest. The central midfielder played a starring role in some of Forest's FA Cup wins as they reached the quarter-final stage and played a pivotal role in the East Midlands club's promotion to the top flight.

The 21-year-old stole the show in his side's play-off final victory over Huddersfield Town at Wembley Stadium, with his fierce delivery leading to the only goal of the game.

A return to Forest looks unlikely as they prepare to sign Dean Henderson on loan from United which would prevent Garner from also joining due to the Premier League's loan rules. Ten Hag is looking to strengthen his midfield this summer with Frenkie de Jong his top target, but Garner will have given the new United boss food for thought with his recent social media activity.

In a story posted by Coach Nic on Instagram which the England U21 international shared on his own story, Garner showcased his incredible speed and agility to outfox former United teammate Angel Gomes in a routine which put the duo through their paces.
