Ange Postecoglou tipped for new Celtic transfer gold amid Champions League millions

Ange Postecoglou has been backed to shrewdly spend the silver and source more transfer gold for Celtic.

Former Parkhead skipper Tom Boyd is adamant the Aussie can be trusted implicitly to deliver gems during the transfer window.

Postecoglou is hunting the globe for signings to boost the ranks with the likes of Alexandro Bernabei on his radar and Cameron Carter-Vickers already secured on an initial £6million deal.

The manager will have added funds at his disposal due to guaranteed Champions League cash and Boyd has no doubts he’ll use it smartly to assist the title defence and return crack at the group stage of Europe’s elite competition.

Postecoglou already has a brilliant strike-rate in the market with a host of successful recruits such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota and Liel Abada arriving in his reign.

And Boyd believes the boss can work the magic again as he said: “I trust him. That’s what managers are judged on. The players they bring into the club and can they make an impact?

“Now you look at what Ange has done and every player that he has brought in has made a massive impact to help us win the league and a cup.

“What he is doing, he is doing right and that is why we trust what he is doing.

“The adjustment of style, the formation which was alien to many of us at the start was working by the end of the season by winning the league and getting us into the Champions League proper.

“That’s the faith we have in the manager and because he has done it. And it has given us that confidence to go into next season hoping he can bring in more better players.”
