Ange Postecoglou's key Celtic exit question as Yokohama flashback shows dilemma facing boss amid Tottenham noise

The rumour mill is rife that Tottenham could be making an approach - but Ange Postecoglou will ask himself one Celtic exit question if his Yokohama F. Marinos stint is to be repeated.

After arriving in Glasgow as a relative unknown on this side of the world, the 57-year-old is a Scottish Cup final with Inverness away from completing a clean sweep of domestic honours at Parkhead this term, with his maiden term bringing a double. It has attracted plenty of attention from elsewhere during this term and the latest have turned talk of Tottenham up a notch.

White Hart Lane chief Daniel Levy has had setbacks in his chase for an Antonio Conte successor and now debate is rumbling over whether it will be Postecoglou, and would he leave Celtic if the English Premier League heavyweight came in. But speaking in February 2021 to Australian journalist Sacha Pisani, a few months before he left the J League side for Celtic, he revealed the big question he asks himself when opportunities arise. He explained: "I'll keep doing what I have been doing, looking at challenging things and things that excite me.

"For me, I have been coaching for a long time now and I am fortunate that pretty much every club I have worked at, we have had some sort of success and I would like to think I have left my mark where people at those clubs appreciate the efforts and everything I have done.

"That is what I am looking for in the future. Hopefully I have 10-15 years of coaching still left in me so whatever the next project is, hopefully it excites me. The passion lies in the football and that was the whole challenge of going to Japan.
