Ange Postecoglou passes bumper Celtic contract talk to Peter Lawwell as he sees the funny side of cheeky fan request

Ange Postecoglou says any chat of a bumper Celtic contract will be delegated to chairman Peter Lawwell after a fan request for a lengthy managerial stay.

The Australian is viewed in hero status around Glasgow's east end after making it two Premiership titles out of two by beating Hearts at Tynecastle last weekend. A victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in next month's Scottish Cup final would seal the Hoops' latest Treble, but there's been lingering talk of the Premier League in England amid Angeball's Scottish success.

After watching the club's youngsters run out 4-3 penalty shootout winners in the City of Glasgow Cup against Rangers at Ibrox, Postecoglou signed some memorabilia and had some photos taken with Celtic supporters who had turned up to greet him outside the home of their rivals. And when one fan asked the 57-year-old if he'd be around for the long haul of the next decade, his answer was tongue-in-cheek.

With chairman Lawwell alongside him for the pulsating youth derby which finished at 3-3 in normal time, a video on social media showed Postecoglou glancing back towards Ibrox's main entrance where he'd been with the Parkhead power broker. He said "he’s here mate... just ask him" before taking more photos.

The champions will be back at Ibrox this weekend for the final derby of this season against Rangers. It might not mean much in terms of league position, but it's a final shot for both sides to claim city bragging rights on the day.
