Ange Postecoglou learns Leeds next manager timeline as Celtic boss' betting odds see major hike

Leeds will give interim manager Michael Skubala at least two more games before making a decision on their next permanent boss.

The Elland Road side are on the hunt for a replacement for Jesse Marsch as they look to avoid the indignity of relegation to the Championship with the American given his marching orders less than a year after taking over. Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been one of the names in the frame since day one although Record Sport understands the club are confident he won't leave if an approach from Leeds arrives.

Skubala has the job in the meantime and the club have confirmed in a statement that he will remain in charge for their "upcoming games" - implying he will at least be in the dugout against Everton on Saturday and against Southampton a week later. Those games are against relegation rivals and if he gets results then it would state his case to keep the job until the end of the season.

That's reflected in the betting too as Skubala has moved out in front as the favourite to be their next permanent boss. Betfair are offering as little as 2/9 with punters seemingly fancying the 40-year-old to land the job.

Nuno Espirito Santo and former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard are among the others priced more enticingly with odds on that duo ranging coming in around 4/1. Postecoglou though has seen his odds drift dramatically with Betfair now offering as much as 40/1 on the Celtic boss to take the job.
