Ange Postecoglou grilled over Liverpool allegiance as Tottenham boss sparks press room hilarity with rapid 'Fonz' quip
Ange Postecoglou was in top form as he shut down a line of questioning over his Liverpool allegiance - assuring reporters he doesn't have Jurgen Klopp posters on his wall.
The Tottenham boss will take on the side he supported as a kid this weekend in a fascinating clash between two of the Premier League's form teams. Spurs host Liverpool with both sides still undefeated after six games and looking good for serious runs at the top four...and potentially the title if Man City's relentless form wanes.
While at Celtic Postecoglou made no secret of the fact he used to support the Reds and it's not something he's about to start now. One reporter at his press conference quizzed him over his boyhood allegiance but he was quick to shut it down. He sparked press room hilarity when he joked he used to like Happy Days too - but doesn't have Fonz posters on his wall these days.
He said: "It was the 70s so you could have gone one or two ways as they only used to show Liverpool or Man United back then. I had a couple of mates who went the United way and I went with Liverpool to make it interesting. But things change. I used to love Happy Days back then but I don't have posters of The Fonz on my wall now."
