Ange in Tottenham address as Celtic boss delivers smirking 'still here' response to swirling Premier League chat

Grinning Ange Postecoglou has brushed aside speculation that he could leave Celtic for Tottenham this summer.

Reports in England suggest the Celtic boss is a 'main candidate' for the vacant role at Spurs after Daniel Levy was snubbed by Feyenoord boss Arne Slot - the latest in a long line of potential bosses to knock back the job at the English giants. Reports suggest the Australian is well in the running after the Dutch coach raised concern about the model employed by chief Levy in North London - and that Postecoglou was the new frontrunner.

However, the Parkhead boss wasn't having any of the talk of a move south of the border. Asked about consistent speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League if Tottenham talk came into his thinking by Sky Sports, he quipped: "And yet I'm still here. Listen, it doesn't.

"I think anyone that knows me knows that what is important for me is the here and now. I've never planned anything in my football career.

"My ambitions right now are to enjoy tomorrow and have a good game and try to win a cup final to have a special year. It's not every year that you get the chance to win a Treble. If anyone thinks that I am thinking anything other than that then they don't know me."

Pressed on if he thinks about his ambitions on what he has to achieve at Celtic, he responded: "No, because I know that's not how football works. You can't try to chart a certain course to be in a certain position at a certain time.

"The one thing I do know for certain is if you are not concentrating on the job in hand it's taken out of your hands. I've worked really hard in my career not to be in that position."
