Ange Postecoglou warned Tottenham is 'different ball game' as Martin Keown reveals doubts over Celtic boss appointment

Martin Keown has displayed a level of ignorance towards life at Celtic - as the Arsenal legend wonders whether Ange Postecoglou is up to the Tottenham task.

The Australian manager is set to take the reins in north London after winning five out of a possible six domestic trophies on offer during two seasons in Glasgow. But according to the Arsenal Invincible, it is "difficult" to fail in the goldfish bowl of Scotland, where second place is last and trophies don't come with a job guarantee.

He claimed on talkSPORT: "There is very different levels. The support is incredible and quality of player is so much better than anything else in Scotland. This is a different situation. It would be difficult to fail at Celtic, with the finances and resources they have. This is a different ball game, coming in to a team that finished eighth in the table."

Host Jim White pulled up the fact legendary Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger arrived in North London from Japan as an unknown - just like Postecoglou did in Glasgow from Yokohama two years ago. Keown hit back, first by saying Postecoglou deserves a crack before then stating Tottenham is too big of a job for him: "We gave him respect. The moment he opened his mouth we thought 'this guy might be special.'

"You need to give someone a chance. Postecoglou, we will give him a chance, we have seen this before with Brendan Rodgers, came to Leicester City and got two fifth places and an FA Cup. I don't know if he can turn Spurs around. I think it is too big of an ask. Some of the greatest managers we have seen have gone in there and not been successful."

Keown had said earlier in the programme: "It's a difficult one for him to come into. Has he got the pedigree? He is walking into something he has
