Andy Robertson mocks Trent Alexander-Arnold about England snub before FIFA 22 game

Trent Alexander-Arnold has often been overlooked by Gareth Southgate when picking his England squad in the past.

The Liverpool defender is extremely talented but he’s often found it challenging to make it to England squads in recent times.

Alexander-Arnold was left out of the squad for England’s games against Andorra and Hungary in October.

He admitted a month later that the snubs have ‘hurt’.

“Going off results and how far we have gone in tournaments, this is one of the best England teams ever,” he said, per the Liverpool Echo.

“It’s big to be in and around it. It’s just when you set such high standards for yourself, it hurts when you don’t play as much as you want to.

“It’s a million dollar question in my mind, really. Why hasn’t it clicked yet?”

However, despite a place in the England squad meaning so much to him, Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson showed no mercy when the snubs were referenced.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold went head-to-head on FIFA 22. The match was broadcast on Bateson87’s Twitch channel in partnership with BT Sport’s Hope United.

Bateson87 was placed in charge of picking the teams for each player.

He said: “I’d like to see you play as England vs Scotland…”

Robertson then violated Alexander-Arnold, saying: “Well, we had that discussion but Trent wouldn’t be in the England squad, would he?”

Alexander-Arnold put his hand to his face knowing he had just been savaged. Robertson, meanwhile, burst out laughing. Watch the moment below…
