Andy Robertson laughs off Man United fan abuse as Liverpool hero's smirking reaction to tirade caught on camera

Andy Robertson was left laughing after a shameless Manchester United fan hurled abuse at him and two of his Liverpool teammates.

United won one of the best games of the season so far to reach the FA Cup semi-finals, taking their bitter rivals to extra-time before eventually winning 4-3. The Premier League giants traded haymakers, but the Old Trafford side had the last laugh when Amad Diallo finally sealed the win on 121 minutes.

They had trailed twice, with Harvey Elliott's goal to put Liverpool in front in extra-time looking set to win it before Marcus Rashford and Diallo struck at the death. And it sparked emotional celebrations amid a frustrating season for Erik ten Hag and his team so far. In a clip that has been shared far and wide on social media, however, one punter appeared to take things too far. Positioned right next to the Liverpool dugout, one fan filmed the Liverpool players as he hurled abuse at them walking down the stairs.

Talisman Mohamed Salah is his first target as he points in their faces, laughs obnoxiously and shouts expletives. As Robertson walks past, the fan shouts 'you f***** idiot'. But rather than react angrily, the Scotland skipper is simply seen smirking and taking the high ground.

The FA Cup has come and gone for Robertson and his team but they have one trophy in the bag already and have a Premier League title race on their hands. They are the bookies' favourites to win the Europa League, and after all that there is the small matter of Euro 2024 where he will lead Scotland out against Germany.
