Andy Murray news: Scot to trial new coach after split with Aus Open trainer

Andy Murray is set to trial a new coach for the Rotterdam Open, a last-minute change of plans as his next tournament after the Australian Open was set to be in Doha, after he split with his trainer at the season opening Grand Slam.

The former British No 1 made a promising start to the season after he reached the final of the Sydney Tennis Classic, but he only managed to make it to the second round of the ‘Happy Slam’ before he was defeated in straight sets by Taro Daniels from Japan.

At the end of last season, the Scot split with his long term coach Jaime Delgado who went on to train with Denis Shapovalov who won the ATP Cup with Canada, before he started a trial period with Jan de Witt who has the likes of Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon on his coaching CV.
