Andy Murray erupts over 'total mess' ruining tennis as he demands US Open chiefs sort it out

Unimpressed Andy Murray has let rip at the persistent post midnight finishes at the US Open which he has branded a complete mess.

The Scottish icon is adjusting to life in retirement but is fed-up of watch the best players in the world battling it out in the wee hours of the morning – despite a policy at Flushing Meadows trying to halt late night finishes. Murray knows better than most about burning the midnight oil after his all-time classic vs Thanasi Kokkinakis which finished at 4.15am. And the three-time grand slam champion wants players to receive more protection from the schedule makers.

A peeved, Murray, known for refusing to pull his punches as he unloads. Posting on X, the 37-year-old: "The tennis scheduling situation is a total mess. It looks so amateurish having matches going on at 2,3 4am. Sort it out US Open, Australian Open, Wimbleon, ATP Tour. WTA."
