Andrew Dickson to leave Rangers as finance chief the latest victim in Ibrox boardroom cull

Rangers director Andrew Dickson is set to become the club’s latest high-profile departure as new chairman John Bennett continues his Ibrox shake-up.

Dickson – the club’s director of finance and football administration – has served over three decades after joining Rangers’ account department in 1991. He’s been the club’s great survivor after serving a string of regimes having first been hired by former Ibrox chief Sir David Murray.

However, Record Sport understands his long association with the club will shortly coming to an end as he becomes the fifth major figure to exit the club in the space of the past month. Talks between the parties are ongoing but it’s expected the process will see him depart imminently. Former chairman Douglas Park and sporting director Ross Wilson have already stepped down from high ranking positions. Bennett – who has stepped up to replace Park – has decided marketing chief James Bisgrove will take over from managing director Stewart Robertson when he departs the club this summer.

And the new boardroom boss will also be involved in the hunt for a new academy director after Tuesday’s announcement that Craig Mulholland is also stepping down after a 20-year association with Ibrox. Dickson, a chartered accountant, was promoted to the role of head of football administration in 2003 and has also held a variety of SFA and SPFL board slots.
