Ancoats cocktail bar all set to take over Chorlton favourite

The Jane Eyre, the buzzy bar and eatery in Ancoats, is all set to take over The Parlour in Chorlton. Known for its cocktails and revered Sunday roasts, the plan is to open on December 1.

As well as bringing its cocktails and roasts, it will also boast a small plates menu, while breakfast and brunch will be served on the weekends. The focus will be on seasonal ingredients, while the Ancoats head chef Jack Mullen, who is also a partner in the business, will take over as head chef in Chorlton.

Based on Cutting Room Square, The Jane Eyre opened in 2018, and is named in honour of owners Joe and Jonny’s late mother, Jane. After making a name for its fine cocktails, it then opened up a bar at Escape To Freight Island, which it will continue to run alongside its two other bars.

The kitchen in Chorlton is bigger than what we have in Ancoats. And there’s more families in Chorlton, so we’ll be catering more for kids too.”

Ancoats general manager Frank Burke, also a co-owner, will also be heading over to manage the new spot. “We’ll have a wider
