Amy Dowden hailed an 'inspiration' as she admits to 'feeling like a princess' at NTAs days after cancer treatment

Amy Dowden has been hailed an 'inspiration' after appearing at the National Television Awards on Tuesday (Sept 5) just days after undergoing her third round of chemotherapy. The Strictly Come Dancing star, who joined the BBC dance contest as a professional back in 2017, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer earlier this year.

Following her heartbreaking diagnosis, the 33-year-old has been sharing updates with her 500,000 followers on Instagram, and most recently told fans how she had undergone her third round of chemotherapy. Taking to her Instagram story on Tuesday morning, the Welsh dancer said she was feeling 'so tired' after her latest treatment.

Speaking on her Instagram Story, Amy said: "I just wanted to fully recover after chemo on Thursday and I'm definitely getting there. I had a little bit of sickness on Thursday, Friday, tiredness but you can't sleep because of the steroids. I've got my steroid moon face, which I'm used to anyway by now."

She continued: "I'm definitely feeling more like Amy today. Mouth covered in mouth ulcers and quite swollen and I'm still losing the hair still. You can't sleep because of the steroid but I'm so tired. Those are some of the symptoms I've got.

"But I've not ended up in hospital so far after this admission so that's a win-win! I was told by my fellow pink sisters that usually after the third EC, the chemo you have, is when you start to lose your eyelashes and eyebrows and so far, I've still got them.

"Obviously I could still lose them and I've still got another EC to go before then I go onto a different type of chemo. But the sun is shining, I've got my twin sister with me,
