Amrabat, Hojlund and Mount have continued a trend for Manchester United under Erik ten Hag
Since stepping into the Manchester United managerial hot-seat in May 2022, Erik ten Hag has overseen the addition of 16 first-team signings at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman inherited a sinking ship and a squad that was in disarray, meaning a huge amount of effort, as well as money, has gone into trying to transform the club's fortunes. Ten Hag knew that Martinez would have a positive impact on the dressing room, United's style of play and the supporters. His never-say-die attitude was instantly lauded by the supporters, meaning an Argentine flag was rarely out of view, either at Old Trafford or on the road.
Ten Hag had to install a fresh belief into the squad after a disastrous 2021/22 campaign, and Martinez's personality and fighting spirit was key in making that possible. Casemiro's winning mentality and hunger for success also contributed enormously to an upturn in fortunes.
