Amad makes surprising Rasmus Hojlund comment and sums up Alejandro Garnacho relationship

Amad has admitted he was taken aback by Rasmus Hojlund’s turn of speed following the Danish striker’s move to Manchester United.

Hojlund had a mixed first season at United, scoring 16 goals following his £72million move from Atalanta. After an injury-disrupted start to this season, Hojlund is available again and will be hoping to open his account when United host Tottenham on Sunday.

Amad, 22, will no doubt be among those delighted to see the striker return to fitness, having been left surprised by the 21-year-old’s pace and sharpness in training. Amad also revealed Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are the teammates he is closest to in the United squad. He boldly said Mainoo has the potential to become one of the greatest players in the club’s history.

“Kobbie, at his age, is so good,” said Amad. “He’s an amazing player, [a] good person. I think he’s going to be one of the best players in Manchester United’s history.

“Off the pitch, he’s a nice guy. We go out for dinner together, along with Garna. We are really close."

He also spoke highly of Garnacho, adding: “Garna is an amazing player, I like him because he wants to push and reach his potential. I’m very happy for them and I hope, together, we can do something
