Almost Famous confirms closure of all sites in heartbreaking statement
The founder of hit Manchester burger spot Almost Famous has announced the closure of all its sites.
In an update issued this morning, owner Beau Myers confirmed the closure of its sites across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds. Explaining the reason for the closure of the brand, he cited the current economic climate and 'lingering debt'.
Beau first launched Almost Famous in Manchester's Northern Quarter back in 2012 - pioneering the "dirty burger" trend in the city and sparking queues around the block from hungry punters desperate to get inside. He closed the brand's Withington site last year.
As well as the Northern Quarter site closing, Almost Famous' site at Great Northern will close. Its two other sites in Liverpool and Leeds will also close.
Beau said: "It is with broken hearts that today, 27th January 2025, we announce the closure of all Almost Famous venues across Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.
"The current economic climate has proven too challenging for us to overcome, with lingering debt from Covid and rising costs across every aspect of the business. Despite our best efforts, we are no longer able to continue.
"For over 13 years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented and passionate people in hospitality. We will do everything we can to support you during this transition.

It comes just a few months after the team opened it's late-night smashed burger spot, Super Awesome Deluxe in the former Lono Cove site in the Northern Quarter and its underground bar, Ego Death. Both venues will
