Ally McCoist names his ultimate Rangers Masters XI but Ibrox legend includes one Celtic hero in 6-a-side squad

Rangers legend Ally McCoist named his ultimate team for Masters football - including Celtic hero Kenny Dalglish.

The 6-a-side competition for retired players is returning to television after an 11 year absence, with Braehead Arena to host iconic players from Glasgow's big two as well as Manchester United and Liverpool.

McCoist has played in the tournament before, and while he's unlikely to be making an appearance this time he was asked on talkSPORT for his ultimate team.

The Rangers legend named former team-mates Paul Gascoigne, Brian Laudrup and Graeme Souness - but there was space for a former Parkhead favourite too.

McCoist said: "I can give mine very quickly. I’m playing (Andy) Goram in goals just ahead of Chris Woods.

"I’m going to go one at the back, I’m playing (Terry) Butcher or (Richard) Gough and then I’m going to have Souness, Gascoigne, Laudrup and Dalglish."

Guest Gabby Agbonlahor named his own side, heavy on former England internationals.

The former Aston Villa striker went for Shay Given in goal, John Terry and Ashley Cole at the back, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in the middle and Wayne Rooney up-front.

Agbonlahor joked he wouldn't even make the bench for his side, but McCoist was left unimpressed when host Laura Woods asked which of the teams would win.

The Ibrox legend spluttered: "What?! That team would beat anybody!"
