Ally McCoist left in Rangers hysterics as Garnacho's Man United stunner brings epic Walter Smith dig flooding back

Ally McCoist has been left with Rangers flashbacks after Alejandro Garnacho's stunning bicyle kick - as his came with a thud.

The Man United youngster scored a goal of the season contender with an acrobatic effort during a 3-0 win away at Everton. It's sparked debate on how it stands up next to previous bicycle efforts like Wayne Rooney's famous effort against Man City. But McCoist was left thinking of his own time he provided an acrobatic goal for Rangers during his playing days.

With Walter Smith as his manager though, the legendary Ibrox gaffer wasn't about to let his striker away without a cheeky dig at how his effort panned out. The former striker was making his way back from a nasty broken leg injury and there was little sympathy spared from his boss when putting one into the net. He told talkSPORT: "I got one. Nothing of the quality (of Garnacho's)... I scored in my first game back coming back from a broken leg.

"Walter Smith wanted me to go on and replace the crater I left when I hit the ground! That's what he said to me.

"He said to me 'I loved your goal son but do me a favour, you going to repair that divet?' The thud when I hit the deck!"
