Ally McCoist drops Rangers vs Liverpool one liner as Ibrox legend blissfully confesses 'I'm getting carried away'
Overjoyed Ally McCoist joked Rangers' Europa League glory night led to him waking up in a panic - because he fears a date with Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup might be a step too far.
The Ibrox side are off to the Europa League Final after a thrilling and emotionally-charged victory over RB Leipzig in Glasgow on Thursday night.
They will play Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville on May 18 for the right to lift the trophy.
The Europa League victors then traditionally face off against the Champions League winners at the start of next season with Jurgen Klopp's team favourites to beat Real Madrid.
And McCoist, who freely admitted he's getting carried away, couldn't help but think of what could lie ahead.

He said on talkSPORT: "I'll tell you, it's been a great night but I've woken up this morning panicking.
"And I'll tell you why - I think Liverpool in the Super Cup might be a step too far for us!"
McCoist was on BT Sport duty but still managed to join the post-match party from the punditry gantry, dancing along with the Rangers players during their lap of honour.
