'All the time I am wondering where the next bomb will fall': Scientist from Manchester trapped in Gaza

A scientist from Manchester says he fears 'all the time where the next bomb will fall' as he remains trapped in Gaza. Mohammed Ghalayini, 44, said he is terrified of being killed by an Israeli air strike every time he goes out to get food for his family.

Manchester-based Mohammed was visiting relatives when Israel began its bombardment of Gaza following the murderous Hamas attack on the Jewish state.

Mr Ghalayini told how he and his family have been forced to move several times and are now sheltering in the southern city of Khan Yunis. The air quality scientist was 15 miles from the Al-Ahli hospital, which was blown up on Tuesday evening with heavy loss of life.

Hamas blames Israel although Western experts say a misfiring terrorist rocket was a more likely cause. Mr Ghalayini said: "We were appalled by the massacre. My father used to work there."

Despite the conflicting claims, he said he was in absolutely no doubt that it was due to an Israeli strike, reports The Mirror, and asked: "Where is international humanitarian law?"

He went on: "We are really, really struggling. I'm struggling to sleep, we're not eating enough and we’re kind of running around the streets trying to get stuff.

"And all the time I am wondering where the next bomb will fall."
