All the key developments planned for Greater Manchester this week

The demolition of Kearsley Driving Range and the refurbishment of a section of Stalybridge Celtic’s stadium into a fan zone are the big applications in Greater Manchester this week.

The golf centre in Bolton shut up shop last year and now the driving range area looks like it could be turned into large family homes if these latest plans get approved. Over in Stalybridge there is hope a new fan zone could help boost fan numbers and add to the club coffers.

Elsewhere in Greater Manchester there are more housing developments and school expansions planned.

Kearsley Golf Centre may soon demolish their driving range and erect seven new homes, if plans are approved.

Due to an ongoing decline in customer numbers and a huge increase in running costs, the family run business was forced to close in January 2023 after decades of trading. The site initially formed part of a much larger golf course and over time, land has been sold off to other owners for non-recreational purposes.

The seven new homes would contain three bedrooms as well as gardens and private driveways.
