All-rounder Chloe Tryon returns to Proteas squad for New Zealand inbound tour

All-rounder Chloe Tryon makes her return from a leave of absence to the Proteas women's squad that will host New Zealand in an inbound white-ball tour, the first time that the team will play on home soil since they were losing T20 World Cup finalists against Australia earlier this year.

The tour, which runs from 24 September to 15 October, includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five T20 International matches.

Top-order batter Laura Wolvaardt, currently leading the Proteas on their tour of Pakistan, will continue her interim captaincy in the series against the White Ferns, who last played against South Africa in the round-robin phase of the World Cup in Paarl, where the Proteas won convincingly after restricting the New Zealanders to a record 67 all-out.

The experienced Tryon, player of the match in that encounter with an innings-defining 40 off 34 and bowling figures of 2/12, will be a welcome addition to the 16-player squad after the Proteas delivered mixed results in Pakistan having suffered a T20 series whitewash (0-3) defeat
