Alisson 2nd, Karius 5th - Every Liverpool No.1 ranked of PL era ranked on clean sheets

One of the many ways to describe Liverpool’s Premier League history of goalkeepers wearing the number one shirt is the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good, or in this case, world class, includes Alisson Becker.

Meanwhile, the bad looks at Mike Hooper and Diego Cavalieri, before we get to the ugly of Loris Karius and Brad Jones. The fact is, Liverpool struggled to find a consistent, game-changing number one of Alisson’s level until the Brazilian arrived at Anfield in 2018.

It’s no coincidence that since Alisson has arrived from AS Roma, Liverpool have had most of their success in the Premier League. He has been one of many difference-makers. By the time he calls it a day on Merseyside, the number one may go down as exactly that in Liverpool history.
