Alfredo Morelos sees Rangers clouds follow him to Brazil as Santos diehards clued in on chequered rep

Santos supporters have been warned about the major concerns which blighted the latter stages of Alfredo Morelos' Rangers career.

The Colombian possessed the ability to inthrall and annoy with his record-breaking European goal return beset by several flashpoints over indiscipline and missing key games Champions League qualifiers against Malmo and PSV. Morelos ended his months long wait to find a new club after six seasons at Rangers, and now El Bufalo will aim to reignite a career which has tailed off in recent seasons and resulted to an underwhelming final season in Glasgow which yielded only 12 goals in 45 appearances.

CNN Brazil wrote: "Morelos' time in Scotland, however, was also marked by off-field problems for the Colombian. His physical condition was constantly questioned, as was his unprofessional attitude. On one occasion, in August 2022, Morelos was cut by former coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst from the list of players involved in Rangers' match against PSV to reach the Champions League."

Morelos – who penned a heartfelt letter to Rangers supporters upon his deal with Brazilian big boys – was a key man under Steven Gerrard with his goals vital en route to their Scottish Premiership title romp and consecutive appearances in the last 16 of the Europa League before almost going all the way under Van Bronckhorst.

The 27-year-old was linked with clubs in Spain, Russia and the Middle East before choosing Santos. His new team return to Serie A action on Thursday, September 14 against old rivals Cruzeiro.
