Alfredo Morelos Rangers injury verdict questioned after 'surprising' Colombia green light despite warning signs

Crocked Alfredo Morelos shouldn't have been allowed to travel for Colombia duty by Rangers, reckons Richard Foster.

The 25-year-old was absent for his side's 3-0 win over Bolivia as he deals with a "muscle overload" while on international duty.

He remains in South America ahead of the clash with Venezuela next week as Colombia look to mount a late push for the World Cup.

With the crucial derby clash with Celtic just around the corner concerns have ramped up the Morelos could be missing for the showdown.

Former Rangers star Foster insists it has been clear since the Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade that Morelos had a knock.

The Ibrox talisman was replaced in the second half of the last 16 showdown, but was given the nod by Gio van Bronchorst to start against Dundee days later.

Foster reckons Rangers should have told the Colombian FA Morelos wasn't fit rather than leave the player to travel across the globe and deal with a muscle issue.

He told the PLZ Football Show: “You’ve seen it in the last European game.

"He came off with 10 minutes to go, and he was sort of stretching like he was in a bit of discomfort. I was surprised he played against Dundee.

“Rangers are a better side when he plays. I know Roofe and Sakala have come in, but Rangers are a better side when he is in form.
