Former Celtic star Mark Wilson reckons Alfredo Morelos will not be able to change his "lifestyle" to succeed at Rangers under Michael Beale.

And the pundit contrasted that with Scott Brown's career revival at Celtic Park following the arrival of Brendan Rodgers. The Colombian striker has failed to show his best this season amid battles with fitness, and has failed to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up under Gio van Bronckhorst or Beale this season having netted just 10 goals in all competitions for the Light Blues.

With Morelos' contract ticking down the Ibrox fan base are debating if the club's record European goalscorer should be offered new terms, or be shown the door as a free agent at the end of the campaign. Wilson reckons that the 26-year-old will be unable to show his best form in a Rangers' jersey again - unlike Brown who has publicly stated he made wholesale changes behind the scenes to keep his Celtic career alive under Rodgers.

Wilson told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "A comment that a lot of Rangers fans say is 'if we could just get the Morelos from 18 months ago, 100 per cent (we should renew his contract).' The problem is players get in physically worse shape as they get older, it's just a fact.

"You don't just turn back the clock 18 months and say I've rediscovered my sharpness and that. Some - very occasionally - will.

"Some find a new way of living their life. One of the best examples is Scott Brown. Scott Brown looked as if he was struggling to get about the park.

"Brendan Rodgers came in, he lived his life differently, and he had a great end to his Celtic career. Morelos doesn't strike me as someone who is going to get up one day and say 'I am changing my lifestyle, I am trimming down,
