Alf-Inge Haaland has already said how long he expects Erling to stay at Man City for

Erling Haaland reached 100 goals for Manchester City this weekend - but the striker may stick to his plan of leaving the club by 2026.

The formidable forward found the back of the net in City's dramatic 2-2 draw with Arsenal after just nine minutes on Sunday. It was a milestone moment for Haaland, who reached triple figure goals for Pep Guardiola's team in 105 games, a scoring record only matched by Cristiano Ronaldo's sprint to 100 goals for Real Madrid.

The Norwegian striker joined City in 2022 and the club are eager to offer him a new deal, with his current one reportedly containing a £175million release clause for club's outside England. However, Haaland initially did not intend to fulfil his five-year contract, at least that's according to his dad.

While the striker's mindset may have shifted, his father and former City midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland previously revealed that his son was unlikely to spend more than four years at the Etihad Stadium. "I think Erling wants to prove his abilities in all leagues," his dad said in the 'Haaland: The Big Decision' documentary, back in 2022. "Then he can stay there (City) for three or four years at the most. He could be, for example, two-and-a-half years in Germany, two-and-a-half years in England and then in Spain, Italy, France, right? ".

Before making the switch to the Premier League champions, Haaland Snr discussed the clubs that were keeping tabs on the coveted forward. "On our list, I think City is the best team," he added.
